Position Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the manufacturing facility. This role ensures the highest standards of safety, operational performance, and continuous improvement are maintained, so that objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity are consistently achieved.
Safety & Compliance
- Lead the development and maintenance of a proactive safety culture throughout the facility.
- Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety guidelines.
- Drive initiatives focused on incident prevention and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment for all employees.
Operations (Production & Scheduling)
- Oversee all aspects of production and scheduling to effectively meet customer and business demand.
- Drive improvements in throughput, schedule attainment, and overall productivity.
- Identify and resolve any operational constraints that may impact performance.
Logistics & Maintenance
- Ensure seamless material flow across all areas, including receiving, warehousing, and shipping.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure on-time delivery to customers.
- Oversee equipment reliability through effective maintenance systems and downtime reduction.
Quality
- Ensure strict adherence to established quality standards and procedures.
- Work actively to reduce defects, scrap, and rework in the manufacturing process.
- Lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions to address quality issues.
People & Leadership
- Develop and mentor supervisors and emerging leaders within the facility.
- Drive accountability and set clear performance expectations for all team members.
- Foster a culture of ownership, engagement, and continuous improvement among staff.
Performance, Continuous Improvement & Financial Management
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure sustained performance levels.
- Implement and track corrective actions and reinforce accountability for results.
- Lead initiatives focused on improving efficiency and reducing operational costs.
- Effectively manage labor and operating expenses to meet financial objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred
- 5–10 years of manufacturing leadership experience, including experience in unionized environments preferred
