Position Summary:
The Shift team Leader will monitor all activities related to sheeting, cutting, slitting and warehousing along with some aspects of shipping and receiving in the plant. The team leader ensures a safe, organized plant which can meet the needs of the Case Paper Sales and production schedule. The shift Lead, at times, may be hands on and may briefly operate converting equipment, drive forklifts or clamp trucks or adjust operating equipment. This position will be on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance strong industrial safety performance including forklift operation, personal safety gear, unsafe employee behavior, and strong working relationships with plant management.
- Aligning personnel based on priorities, employee skills, and the production schedule.
- Initiate work orders on equipment issues and communicate with the manager.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and policies. Communicate with management.
- Assign work and managing employees based on priorities, and management or filling in where needed.
- Interact with management to resolve problems, yield issues or quality issues that arise.
- Maintain a culture of safety, accuracy and efficiency.
- Support the company’s core values of flexibility, ownership, reputation, teamwork and humor.
- Use company cell phones to maintain good communications and accessibility while at work.
- Manage waste and waste trailer
Qualifications:
- 3 years of warehouse experience
- 3 years forklift experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Experience with AS400 system preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
