OVERVIEW ::
The Benefits Assistant plays a key role in supporting employees with benefit enrollment, leave administration, and general benefit-related inquiries. This position is responsible for guiding new hires through the benefits process, ensuring compliance with eligibility requirements, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. The Benefits Assistant also initiates and tracks FMLA, personal leaves of absence, and short-term disability, while serving as a liaison between employees and service providers when needed.

Case Farms participates in the E-Verify system and uses tools made available by the federal government to confirm employment eligibility of all team members. Persons offered employment are required to provide documentation proving their employment eligibility, and all offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of the E-Verify process.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS ::
- Enroll new hires in benefits plan during orientation.
- Follow up after 90 days with new hires as they become eligible for insurance and ensure all required paperwork to accept/decline insurance is completed and mailed to the corporate office.
- Initiates and tracks FMLA, Personal LOA's, and Short-Term Disability.
- Assists employees/ prospective employees with benefits questions.
- Receives DR's Notes and other documentation(s) pertaining to absences and LOA's and files them under HIPAA guidelines.
- Must occasionally act as a liaison between employees and service providers.
- Helps cover for the receptionist during breaks.
- Helps plan and organize various employee events.
- Performing other job duties as needed.Â
- Must have 1 year of experience in benefits administration and/or analysis of employee benefit plans and compensation.
- Excellent computer skills including electronic mail, data entry.
- Good organizational skills and follow-through.
- Ability to work under stressful situations, deadlines, and sometimes conflicting timelines.
- Bilingual preferred.Â
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- An associate degree in a related field is preferred
