This position is a Part-time (.4) teaching position. Because this position is scheduled for less than 16 hours per week, it is classified as a part-time position and is not eligible for employee benefits.
Responsibilities of the English Learner Teacher is to provide the following:
- English Language development instruction in listening, speaking, reading, and writing that appropriately aligns with students' needs, WIDA standards, and CSS
- Experience working with students with Autism, Emotional Disabilities and other high needs
- Initial and ongoing assessment of students' English Language Proficiency
- Maintain data from a variety of sources on individual students' English Language Proficiency, demographic information, and academic progress
- Monitor English Learner student progress in all settings
- Monitor former English Learning student progress in all settings; complete biannual FLEP reports
- Review student records and educational histories in order to develop and maintain EL student profiles and goals for obtaining English Language and Academic Proficiencies
- Communicate with parents and guardians about student placement and progress
- Provide outreach and work closely with families of EL's
- Attend and participate in school meetings involving English Learners
Salary : $23,986 - $46,528
