About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Controller to join our home office team in Eagle, ID. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations while ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting.
Reporting to the CFO, this role will own financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity environment while building a modern, system-driven accounting function. You will help transition the organization to a highly automated, insight-driven finance model where close is efficient, scalable, and enables value-added reporting to our field leaders.
This role is critical in supporting our field-first operating model, ensuring operators have timely, accurate financial insights to drive performance at the facility level.
What You’ll Do
Lead & Scale the Function
- Lead and develop a high-performing accounting organization, including managers and functional leaders
- Drive accountability, clarity, and a strong service-oriented culture aligned to a field-first model
Own Financial Integrity
- Own the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of all financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity environment
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
- Provide technical leadership on complex accounting areas (leases, REIT structures, debt/lender accounting)
Modernize & Automate
- Transition accounting to a system-driven, highly automated environment
- Eliminate manual processes, workarounds, and spreadsheet dependency
- Build toward a streamlined close, with minimal manual intervention
Enable Field Performance
- Support a field-first model by delivering timely, actionable financial insights
- Ensure rapid delivery of unit-level reporting and performance metrics post-close
- Partner with operations to provide clear, relevant financial benchmarks
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant leadership experience
- Proven experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Director of Accounting in a complex, multi-entity environment
- Experience managing and developing managers and/or team leads
- Strong preference for experience in healthcare, multi-site operations, or similarly complex industries
- CPA license strongly preferred
- Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading audits and working with external auditors
- Strong technical accounting skills and ability to navigate complex accounting issues
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and influencing skills
- High attention to detail paired with strong business acumen
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach
