What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Coding and Billing Claims Specialist position at Cascade Outpatient Spine Center?
Cascade Outpatient Spine Center has an opening for a part-time or full-time medical coding and billing specialist in our busy ambulatory surgery center working two to five 8-hour days per week, Monday-Friday. We are looking for someone to join our team that enjoys solving billing and collection challenges in a supportive, results-driven environment.
Please note: remote work not available; all working hours will be in-office
No third party billing inquiries, please
Qualified candidates must have:
· 2 years of medical billing and coding experience with claims management
· A solid understanding of payer rules and claims lifecycles
· Strong customer service skills
· Working knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes, HCFA 1500 claim forms, HIPAA, insurance benefits and appeal processes

What You’ll Do:
· Track and follow up on insurance claims
· Investigate outstanding insurance balances and take appropriate collection action to resolve claims in a timely manner
· Actively resolve Accounts Receivable outstanding balances to ensure timely reimbursements
· Escalate demographic, payer, or system issues as identified
· Investigate denials and resolve unpaid claims for insurance payers and patients
· Communicate with payers, patients, and clinic staff
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
