We are seeking an experienced part-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Seattle, WA.
Job Description
The Veterinary Assistant will be responsible for assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in performing medical procedures on animals. This position is responsible for assisting the veterinarian with patient care, surgical and non-surgical procedures, and assisting with lab work. This position will also assist the veterinary technician in patient care, lab work, and surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals and a desire to learn about animal care.
Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in a veterinary setting
- Experience with surgical and non-surgical procedures is preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure to deliver quality results
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance of patient rooms, equipment, and premises
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance or assistance of another person on a limited basis
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while working at times up to 8 hours per day
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test upon hire
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
