We are seeking a Program Manager (Level II or SR), ESI Strategic Energy Management.
This role is responsible for managing day-to-day operational activity and planning for Energy Smart Industrial’s (ESI) Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program offerings. Primary functions include developing and executing ESI’s Annual SEM Delivery Plan, interfacing with the Bonneville Power Administration and its public utility customers, and directly supervising staff assigned to ESI’s SEM team.
This role contributes to ESI’s energy savings targets and other program objectives by allocating resources to recruit industrial SEM participants, engage their leadership and energy teams, identify energy savings projects, and measure and report savings. The PM oversees and guides implementors to ensure effective program execution while continuously improving program’s core offerings. The PM will work in close collaboration with the Director of Operations to identify and implement growth plans.
ESI’s SEM Program Manager is a player-coach role, with potential responsibilities for specifying energy models, utility and participant engagement, and report generation. The SEM Program Manager also facilitates ESI’s Energy Performance Tracking (EPT) team – a highly collaborative and cross-functional team with BPA representation that establishes and oversees SEM measurement and verification methodologies, and applications of those methodologies within ESI’s SEM projects.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Manage client relationships through video meetings, emails, and other methods to foster a high level of engagement and alignment
  • Foster positive relationships within the program delivery team. Build trust and quickly address issues to ensure high levels of satisfaction with utilities and end users
  • Coordinate SEM project tracking and facilitate annual reporting of verified energy savings
  • Track and forecast Technical Service Provider (TSP) budgets in collaboration with ESI’s TSP Manager and SEM Program Specialist. Provide regular status updates to the Director of Operations.
  • Directly supervise program’s SEM staff which includes one Energy Performance Tracking (EPT) Engineer and one SEM Program Specialist
  • Support the efforts of a cross-functional, multi-department SEM implementation team, including SEM Coaches, Technical Leads and Program Specialists
  • Ensure that the broader delivery team is employing SEM outreach and implementing best practices
