 Cascade AIDS Project is excited to announce that we are hiring skilled and team-oriented Bilingual Prevention Navigator. The SW Washington Bilingual Prevention Navigator will provide office- and field-based HIV/STI prevention, testing, and linkage-to-care services for communities disproportionately impacted by HIV, with a primary focus on Latine and Spanish-speaking individuals, including MSM (Men who have sex with men), people experiencing houselessness, and people who inject drugs. Services will be delivered in both English and Spanish throughout Southwest Washington.

 

This is a Full-Time role working at our Vancouver location in SW Washington The schedule for this role is Monday-Thursday 9:00am-5:00pm with frequent weekend work for outreach.

Starting pay is $29.85 an hour which is equivalent to just over $49,670 a year. The Bilingual Prevention Navigator’s pay increases with tenure and the top of the pay scale is $34.66 an hour. This is a union represented position, so the compensation, benefits and conditions of work are collectively bargained.

 

 

Who You Are

  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English.
  • 2 years of experience working in Community Health or 1 year experience working in Community Health combined with a bachelor’s degree in human/social services field (social work, public or community health, psychology) or related field
  • Ability to maintain Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) AND Medical Assistant- Phlebotomy (MA-P) with 3 months of start date
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle *
  • Understanding of HIV, HCV, and STD transmission and prevention methods, as well as familiarity with Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP).
  • Previous experience collaborating extensively with members of a team to ensure clients experience effective services centered around their needs

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Under the oversight of the SW Washington Medical Director and the Prevention Services Nurse Manager implement HIV, HCV, and STI testing services in both office and field-based settings.
  • Conduct client-centered prevention education with a focus on client re-engagement and retention.
  • Provide patients and clients with basic introductory education on HIV, HCV, and STI transmission, symptoms, prognosis, treatment, and prevention
  • Conduct standardized client assessment and provide referral to proper Syndemic Navigation services, medical resources, and/or other social services
  • Conduct phlebotomy, HIV testing, and STI screening in accordance with CAP policies and procedures, collect quality assurance testing data to meet clinical level standards at a variety of on going and one-time, event-based testing sites, including CAP SW Washington STD Clinics in Vancouver and Longview.
  • Assist clients with PrEP, PEP, and Doxy-PEP by referring to medical services, assistance payment programs, and state assistance plans.
