Purchasing Manager position

Job Summary:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services required by the organization. This role involves developing purchasing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality standards and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, and strategies.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors.
• Manage supplier performance to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchasing activities to avoid shortages or excess stock.
• Analyze market trends and pricing to optimize procurement costs.
• Collaborate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and forecast demand.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, budgets, and relevant regulations.
• Prepare purchasing reports, budgets, and performance metrics.
• Lead and mentor the purchasing team to achieve departmental goals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of strategic sourcing and contract management.
• Experience in cost reduction initiatives.
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPPB, or equivalent are a plus.
