Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Low Voltage Electrician role based in Phoenix, AZ. The Low Voltage Electrician will install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems, including structured cabling, fiber optic cabling, paging and sound masking systems, video surveillance, and wireless access points. Daily work includes reading and interpreting blueprints and low voltage designs, pulling and routing cable through conduit and building structures, labeling and documenting installations, and ensuring compliance with company quality standards and safety practices. The role involves using test equipment to certify cabling, identifying and resolving system issues, and collaborating with project managers, supervisors, and other technicians to keep projects on schedule and within scope. The Low Voltage Electrician will also interact professionally with clients on job sites, maintain tools and inventory, and follow all site-specific and industry regulations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience installing, terminating, and testing low voltage systems such as structured cabling, fiber optics, video surveillance, paging, and sound masking.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, and low voltage system schematics, and to follow detailed installation standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills using hand tools and test equipment (e.g., cable certifiers, tone generators, multimeters) to identify and resolve cabling and connectivity issues.
  • Knowledge of industry codes, standards, and best practices related to low voltage installation, safety, and cable management in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Comfort working on ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces; ability to lift, pull, and carry materials and equipment as required on construction sites.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision and collaborate with diverse field and office teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a low voltage, telecommunications, or electrical apprenticeship or vocational program is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, manufacturer-specific cabling or fiber certifications) are a strong plus.
