Job Summary

Duties

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and guide them to their tables with a friendly, professional demeanor
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as toast, ensuring clear communication with the kitchen and bar staff
• Serve food and drinks promptly, including cocktails, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, demonstrating beverage service expertise
• Process sales transactions efficiently while handling cash, credit card payments, and processing tips accurately
• Upsell menu items such as specialty drinks or desserts to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales revenue
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food safety protocols
• Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions about menu items, offering wine or spirits recommendations based on guest preferences, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction

Requirements

• Previous food service experience in a restaurant setting is preferred; fine dining experience is a plus
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; experience with OpenTable reservations system is advantageous
• Strong knowledge of beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine, and drink presentation techniques
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and ability to engage guests positively
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail in sales processing
• Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours without compromising service quality
• Basic math skills for bill calculation, change handling, and sales tracking
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm
