Wage band range $18.00 - $25.00; however, starting pay is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.
Under the direction of the Facilities Manager and Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department to include trouble-shooting, work orders, assignment prioritizing, and equipment maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated By Typical Activities)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two to three years related experience or equivalent combination of trade school training, externships and experience. Resuscitation (CPR) certification, helpful. Building Maintenance and General Trade certificate, preferred. Good working knowledge of generaltrades to include plumbing, painting, repairs, electrical, air conditioning, carpentry; ability to analyze blueprints. Should have understanding of youth and adolescent "at-risk" behavior in an RTC setting.
Bilingual in Spanish, preferred. A valid California driver’s license is required. Any changes that may occur to your driving record must be reported immediately to Human Resources and your supervisor.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated By Typical Activities)
- Completes assigned work orders and special projects. Prioritizes multiple work orders within electronic tracking system.
- Performs intermediate maintenance functions and repairs; paints, as directed; performs light plumbing and electrical duties.
- Upon approval, obtains bids and procures non-capital equipment and material for daily projects. Maintains system of ordering supplies and parts as needed for operations.
- Takes lead and ensures that scheduled events are set up and torn down in a professional and expedient manner.
- Keeps Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Manager appraised of daily functions and problems pertaining to maintenance and safety.
- Maintains preventative maintenance records for all equipment in the preventative maintenance program.
- Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.
- Reports property damage and unusual occurrences.
- Maintains compliance with all local, County, State and Federal government regulations to include Title 22, Division 6, and prepares reports required by regulatory agencies.
- Maintains confidentiality in all matters within the organization with respect to personnel, operations and clients.
- Able to repair drywall unassisted up to the complete removal and replacement of drywall and framing.
- Performs preventative maintenance on air conditioning units based on the maintenance schedule.
- Able to install and repair doors and associated hardware.
- When required able to interact with vendors and contractors.
- May perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
