Position Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting CASA volunteers who advocate for children in foster care. This position plays a critical role in expanding the organization’s reach by building a strong pipeline of qualified volunteers and ensuring they are equipped, supported, and retained throughout their service. The Coordinator serves as a key connection between the community and CASA’s mission, helping increase awareness and impact across the Permian Basin.
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Recruitment & Community Outreach
- Develop and implement strategic recruitment efforts aligned with agency goals and Texas CASA standards
- Coordinate and conduct community presentations, outreach events, and informational sessions across the service area
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, including civic groups, schools, faith-based organizations, and local businesses
- Promote volunteer opportunities and training through social media, community events, and media outreach
- Track and evaluate outreach activities to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies
- Maintain timely and accurate entry of prospective volunteer data in Optima and ensure consistent follow-up
Volunteer Support & Supervision
- Guide prospective volunteers through the application, screening, and training process
- Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and support to assigned volunteers throughout the life of their cases
- Ensure volunteers understand their roles, responsibilities, and CASA policies and standards
- Serve as a liaison between volunteers and key stakeholders, including courts, DFPS, and partner agencies
- Conduct regular check-ins and case debriefings to support volunteer effectiveness and retention
- Foster a positive and supportive volunteer experience that promotes long-term engagement
Case Management Support
- Match and assign volunteers to cases in collaboration with the Program Director
- Review, co-sign, and ensure timely submission of court reports in accordance with agency policy
- Support volunteers in case preparation, documentation, and court appearances as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case and volunteer records in Optima
- Assist in ensuring compliance with National CASA and Texas CASA standards
Community Relations & Awareness
- Represent CASA professionally at community events, meetings, and partner engagements
- Assist with the development and distribution of outreach and awareness materials
- Support media engagement efforts, including press releases, event promotion, and public awareness campaigns
- Help strengthen CASA’s visibility and reputation within the community
Program Operations
- Assist with tracking volunteer and case data for internal reporting and grant requirements
- Participating in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain compliance with agency policies and all applicable CASA standards
- Support overall program operations and perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience in nonprofit work, volunteer management, or child welfare preferred
- Strong communication, public speaking, and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency with data systems; Optima experience a plus

Pay: $40,000.00 per year
