SUMMARY OF POSITION
Reporting to the General Manager, the Back Server assists in marking and clearing tables for coursing, maintains proper fire times, and keeps a stocked and clean dining room. Back Servers also assist in running food and beverages to tables and ensure each guest's dining experience is exceptional and enjoyable.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Mark and clear tables while creating an overall enjoyable dining experience and promoting a clean and safe environment for guests
- Trains and acclimate new team members to the company culture and operations
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of all menu items and ingredients
- Promptly address and correct any complaints or issues
- Anticipate and accommodate guests’ needs
- Use slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques
- Use restaurant equipment in a clean and proper manner
- Present menus, answer questions and make suggestions for all food and beverage items
- Inform guests of all food and beverage specials
- Sets tables with proper settings
- Wipes down chairs, tables and banquettes
- Stocks side-stations with prescribed supplies
- Performs opening side-work as prescribed
- Performs closing side-work as prescribed
- Reports all breakage, damage of equipment or furniture immediately to management
- Attends and participates in daily pre-service meetings
- Attends and participates in any training sessions or departmental meetings
- Learn by listening, observing other team members and sharing knowledge while leading by example
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1 years of related service experience
- Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required
- Commitment to quality, excellence, and genuine hospitality
- Passion for creating exceptional guest experiences
- Ability to provide warm, humble, and knowledgeable service
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation
- Willingness to work as part of an efficient team in a fast-paced environment
- Polite and engaging with guests and team members
- Neat and well-groomed appearance
- Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
- Ability to work nights, weekends, extended hours, and holidays as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms for extended periods, and lift up to 30 pounds
