CASA has a sister organization, CASA in Action, a separate, but related, nonprofit organization that is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Although CASA and CASA in Action share a common goal of supporting immigrants and low-income people in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Georgia, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors. A set of employees at the two organizations, including the person filling this position, shares their time between the two organizations. This has no effect on salary or benefits.DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS:The Community Education Department supports CASA’s multi-generation approach to education through engaging members as a whole in the attainment of educational opportunities for all. The department supports CASA’s expanding education policy work in strategic partnership with CASA’s Department of Politics & Communications.The Education Department’s Programs use Popular Education and traditional education methodologies to address the educational needs of its adult learners and provide them with otherwise unavailable educational opportunities. Lessons are focused upon concrete and practical everyday experiences. Students, as adults, come to class with experiences they are encouraged to share and peer teach while performing tasks. Class materials are geared towards student’s life experiences and promote both civic engagement and community empowerment. The classes also serve to empower students to make positive and long-lasting social change within their community in coordination with CASA’s organizing and advocacy efforts in the fight for immigration reform, workers’ rights, universal equality, and social justice.POSITION SUMMARY:The Workforce Development Coordinator will perform a range of duties to ensure the effective delivery of workforce and adult continuing education for CASA members and will primarily focus on assisting CASA members in the development of their workforce skills. The role involves coordinating with training programs, employers, unions, and schools while implementing outreach and marketing. Data and registration systems like Salesforce must be managed and quality must be ensured. Working with CASA Virginia staff and other departments, the Coordinator supports community engagement and membership efforts, aligning services with labor market trends and CASA’s mission to build community power.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop, establish and coordinate training opportunities according to the market’s demand for employers and employees in Virginia.Conduct individualized workforce needs assessments and resume writing assistanceScreen, recruit, and provide feedback when evaluating the effectiveness of instructors and volunteers assigned to the program.Analyze training needs in regard to required materials, physical infrastructure, and regulatory compliance requirements to develop a plan on class provision or expansionSupport and implement the development and expansion of the membership program.Ensure that members understand and join CASA’s model by combining services and organizing to build community power.Participate actively in the annual planning process, including developing and executing individual work plans, evaluating and providing feedback on plans as the year progresses.Meet deadlines established by the supervisor and individual work plan.Think creatively about ways to improve further his/her specific job and CASA as an organization.Organize, administer and record results of standardized language assessments and student surveys; track program data and progress as required by funders and departmental priorities.Conduct community outreach and advertisement of course offeringsRecruit, register, add and drop students while keeping master class list updated and enter all relevant data into Salesforce for recordkeeping and reporting purposes.Collect and record class registration payments and textbook sales.Provide onsite support to teachers and students; monitor teacher supplies and materials.Participate actively in the annual planning process, including developing and executing individual work plans, and evaluating and providing feedback on plans as the year progresses.Promote CASA membership and services; collaborate with other CASA departments and programs to ensure that members enjoy an excellent experience with CASA such that they can contribute to building the power of the immigrant community.Provide quality customer service, interactions and responses to all members, partner organizations, vendors, visitors, callers and any other individual or organization you may encounter in your role with CASA. Disseminate information regarding CASA events & community events to students.Plan graduation ceremonies; attend community events promoting classes.Participate in CASA actions, mobilizations, and events as needed and required; recruit students to participate.Other duties as assigned by the supervisor related to position. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:Bachelor's degree required or comparable experience, advanced degree a plus.Bilingual English/Spanish, French is a plus.Valid US Driver’s License and reliable vehicle. Salary : $48,000 - $51,540
