POSITION SUMMARY:

The Casa Grande Union High School District Principal will have the duty to foster a healthy learning environment for the students with the primary responsibility to supervise the education staff and oversee day-to-day school operations.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • Master’s degree in education 
  • Valid Arizona administrator certificate 
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
  • Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Minimum of five (5) years in a leadership role  
  • Previous experience as a principal or in similar role 
  • Ability to speak, read and write in Spanish is a plus 

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Oversee day-to-day school operations. 
  • Manage school logistics and budgets. 
  • Set learning goals for students and teachers based on national and research-based curriculum. 
  • Monitor and report on teacher performance. 
  • Present data from school performance to board members. 
  • Research new resources and techniques to improve teaching. 
  • Interview and hire school personnel. 
  • Provide guidance and counseling to teachers. 
  • Handle emergencies and school crisis. 
  • Organize school events and assemblies. 
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment for students (e.g. implementing hygiene rules). 
  • Attend conferences to gain knowledge on current educational trends. 
  • Set performance objectives for students and teachers. 
  • Implement and monitor school policies and safety protocols. 
  • Serve as an Instructional leader with knowledge Arizona State Standards, ACT College Readiness planning and implementation of a high performing high school. 
  • Has the ability to provide professional development - through classroom observations, team meetings, and teacher/staff leadership models. 
  • Develop and evaluate educational programs, and willing to maintain focus upon the district and site goals using student performance and staff performance data towards improvement. 
  • Collect and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data, facilitating discussions amongst teachers and staff, and working with school leaders. 
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  
  • Provide professional development and teacher accountability. 
  • Select, supervise, motivate, and evaluate teachers to ensure the students can achieve their academic goals through personalized learning. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Directly supervise employees.

Responsibilities include decisions related to selection, performance appraisal, discipline and salary recommendations.

  • Build strong and empowered teams by providing direction, delegation, counsel, mentoring and expertise to individual team leads, while retaining overall responsibility and accountability for results.
  • Promote and encourage the development, training and promotion of staff members to assure the perpetuation of a professional and competent workforce.

  • Processes – Knowledge of school administrative processes and national educational regulations. Hands-on experience with MS Office and education management systems.

Casa Grande Union High School 

 

TRAVEL:

Occasional travel may be required for site visits, meetings, training and/or conferences. Locations may vary and may require overnight stays.
