Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Elementary Reading Interventionist to join our team. As a Reading Interventionist, you will work closely with students, teachers, and families to identify reading challenges and implement targeted interventions to support student success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Literacy, Special Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification or licensure.
- Must have three years of instructional experience
- Must have a K-5 or K-8 Reading Endorsement(or equivalent)
- Proven experience in literacy instruction, reading intervention, or related fields.
- Knowledge of literacy assessments, diagnostic tools, and intervention strategies.
- Strong understanding of the science of reading, reading theories, and instructional methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.
Responsibilities
- Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct assessments to identify students' reading levels, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Analyze assessment data to develop individualized intervention plans for students.
- Intervention Planning and Implementation:
- Design and implement evidence-based interventions to support students' reading fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including English language learners and students with special needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with classroom instruction and curriculum standards.
- Progress Monitoring and Data Analysis:
- Monitor student progress through ongoing assessment and data collection.
- Analyze student data to measure growth, adjust intervention plans, and make instructional decisions.
- Communicate student progress to teachers, administrators, and parents through regular progress reports and meetings.
- Small Group and Individual Instruction:
- Conduct small group and one-on-one reading sessions to provide targeted support and personalized instruction.
- Use a variety of instructional techniques, materials, and resources to engage students and promote literacy development.
- Professional Development and Collaboration:
- Stay current with best practices in literacy instruction, research, and intervention strategies.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and training sessions related to reading intervention.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, discuss student progress, and coordinate instructional strategies across grade levels and content areas.
