Casa Fortaleza is a small non-profit organization the provides support services to sexual violence survivors. All services are available in Spanish. We are expanding our program to include a Sexual Assault Nurse Examination (SANE) Unit. The SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Coordinator, plays a crucial role in supporting survivors of sexual assault, coordinating services, and promoting education efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Victim Support and Advocacy: [
- Provide immediate crisis intervention, confidential emotional support, and information to survivors and their loved ones.
- Facilitate access to medical, legal, and counseling services.
- Advocate for survivors' rights and needs within the system.
- Ensure survivors receive trauma-informed, victim-centered care.
- Coordination and Collaboration:
- Serve as a central point of contact for integrating and coordinating sexual assault victim care.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, medical professionals, mental health providers, and other relevant agencies.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with community partners.
- Ensure a seamless delivery of services for sexual assault survivors.
- Education and Outreach:
- Develop and implement sexual assault education programs and policies.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for staff, students, and community members to promote awareness and understanding of sexual violence.
- Stay current on national trends and best practices regarding sexual violence education.
- Data Collection and Analysis:
- Monitor and track sexual assault incidents and related data.
- Participate in data collection and analysis to inform education and response efforts.
- Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to sexual assault education and response.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Other Duties, not limited to:
- Provide expert testimony to assist prosecution.
- Participate in community outreach and media coordination.
- Maintain current knowledge in the field through active professional development.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Experience: Experience working with victims of violence, preferably in a medical or legal setting.
- Knowledge: Understanding of child abuse and sexual assault, and commitment to ending sexual violence.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal, communication, and advocacy skills.
- Other: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality, and a commitment to trauma-informed care.
