CASA for Kids has an open salaried position to serve as Lead Supervisor across southeast Illinois in Edwards, Wabash and White counties. Responsibilities

Case Management:

· Coordinate, document, and direct all CASA requests until they are resolved.

· Match the CASA for Kids case with the appropriate advocate in consultation with the Program Director.

· Attend docket call and advocate during hearings on behalf of youth.

· Submit written reports to the court and collaborate closely with advocates on reports for submission.

· Understand the history of the case and how this can impact youth.

· Maintain data and case information, including hearings, in the Optima system.

· Consult with the Program Director about problems or concerns.

· Collaborate with agencies, courts, and attorneys on cases and issues to advocate for the best interests of youth.

· Advocate for youth in the role of an advocate when the advocate is unavailable to fulfill duties or the case is assigned to staff by the court.

· Other duties that may be assigned.

· The Lead Supervisor will be responsible to the Executive Director.

Volunteer Supervision:

· Make at least monthly contact with each volunteer and obtain a monthly oral or written report from each, ensuring educational, medical, emotional, and best interest advocacy is provided for each child.

· Help with advocates and consultation as needed and when requested.

· Build professional relationships with volunteer advocates by understanding what motivates them to advocate and by supporting and encouraging each one.

· Assist with Advocate Retention projects.

· Assist and attend ongoing in-service programs.

· Keep necessary and appropriate volunteer records as directed by the Program Director.

Program Activities

· Attend all available conferences and workshops to develop programs for volunteers.

· Attend all staff meetings.

· Assist in promoting public education about the volunteer program, such as GALS, DCFS, employees, and speeches.

· Assist in volunteer appreciation events.

· Assist with volunteer recruitment in the community.

Qualifications

· At minimum an Associate degree in a social service-related field or three years of experience in volunteer coordination and/or social services.

· Ability to communicate with, supervise, and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles. Experience with volunteers is preferred.

· Knowledge and understanding of family issues and dynamics related to child abuse and neglect in crises.

· Experience working with such families is preferred.
