Acts as the extension of the Director of Nursing for shift as assigned. Has responsibility for coordinating, monitoring and evaluating the care provided to all residents on their assigned shift.
Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing, BS in Nursing preferred
- Two years’ experience in the long-term care setting and at least one year of experience in leadership and supervision of peer staff
- Must hold a valid nursing license in the state in which the center is located.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Other languages helpful but not required. Must be able to add, subtract, divide and multiply.
- Needs to have some working knowledge of computers.
- Serves as the clinical leader for assigned shift and performs such duties as designated by the Director of Nursing to maintain all essential nursing department functions:
- Monitor staffing schedule and allocate personnel to meet the needs of the residents.
- Functions as a clinical resource, assisting and coaching the staff using nursing process and practice guidelines in making clinical decisions based on data and assessment of the residents.
- Monitors staff performance, providing coaching/counseling in accordance to the Center’s Human Resource policies and state and federal guidelines. Contributes information regarding annual employee evaluations on a timely basis.
- Ensure the center is managed according to the Center’s policies, procedures and protocols.
