What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Support Coordinator position at Casa de Paz Cincinnati?
Casa de Paz, is a non-profit residential center that focuses on Latina women and children survivors of domestic violence who are eager to transform their lives. We seek to provide a culturally sensitive, caring community and temporary home where healing and growth can take place. Residents will participate in a transition program designed to heal, empower and sustain independence for their families.
The qualified candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, or associate’s degree with three years of experience, with residential programs for homeless, domestic violence for women and children or services to persons of Latin American culture. A candidate must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with families, volunteers and other professionals. Moderate computer experience with Microsoft programs are required. The ideal candidate for this role will be fluent in Spanish and English.

Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their experience and capacity to perform the following duties:
SUPPORT OF FAMILIES IN RESIDENTIAL CENTER
- Responsible for providing comprehensive case management services, including participation in the intake and assessment of families, and developing and implementing trauma-informed individualized family plans with clear goals and timelines.
- Facilitate the implementation of trauma-informed interventions, groups, activities based on family’s plan.
- Assist in the scheduling and coordination of services for residents and provide for transportation as needed.
- Advocate and serve as a liaison between clients and partnering agencies to ensure continuity of care and smooth service coordination.
- Responsible for the well-being of the residents of the house.
- Provide education, appropriate modeling techniques and other supportive services as outlined in service plan.
- Maintain a positive house milieu, enforcement of code of conduct, and effective management of problematic behaviors.
- Facilitate weekly house meetings for residents where they can plan ways to build community and address their concerns.
- Provide on-call support as required and scheduled.
- Mediate any interpersonal problems between families, provide crisis intervention, and emotional support during challenging situations.
- Maintain a base of documentation on the residential center and its families.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and daily access to private insured vehicle during work hours.
- Must pass background checks.
- Have basic computer skills and literacy, basic math skills.
- The Family Support Coordinator will be responsible for additional assignments as determined by the Director.
- Salary: Negotiable.
Hours include some evenings and weekends
