About This Role
We are seeking a passionate and adaptable Substitute Assistant Teacher to support our early childhood education programs in Chandler, AZ. In this role, you will step in to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children ranging from toddlerhood through kindergarten. You will work closely with lead teachers to implement daily routines, manage classroom activities, and ensure each child feels supported and valued during their regular teacher's absence.
What You'll Do
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate activities for toddlers, preschoolers, or kindergarteners.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that complies with local childcare regulations.
- Supervise children closely during indoor play, outdoor recess, mealtimes, and transition periods.
- Support children's social-emotional development by modeling positive behavior and guiding conflict resolution.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and provide brief updates to parents or guardians as requested.
Requirements
- Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Right to work in the US
- E-Verify
- HS Diploma/GED or proof of enrollment or Evaluation Report for Foreign Credentials
- 18 years
- CPR/First Aid Certification
Must be available to work on school days, M-F, between 7:45 AM-3:15 PM
Flexibility to adapt to different age groups and classroom dynamics on short notice.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education
- Familiarity with Arizona early learning standards.
Ability to speak Spanish is a plus!
