Casa de los Nios is one of the most established and well respected non-profit organizations in Tucson. We have been helping kids and healing families since 1973. Our services include parent education classes, Foster Care, Parents As Teachers, Behavioral Health, and Nurse-Family Partnership Program

Job Summary: We are looking for a professional security guard to protect our premises, assets and personnel. You will maintain a high visibility presence and prevent all illegal or inappropriate actions. The goal is to detect, deter, observe and report, while providing customer service.

Essential Duties:

• Protect company's property and staff by maintaining a safe and secure environment.
• Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances.
• Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property.
• Take necessary actions towards trespassers to ensure campus safety.
• Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences and complete a daily activity report.
• Report in detail any suspicious activity or emergencies to your supervisor.
• Contact law enforcement or fire department in case of an emergency.
• Collaborate with team members for effective coverage and protection.
• Conduct regular security patrols of buildings and perimeter.
• Monitor and control access of building entrances and vehicle gates.
• Monitor video cameras and provide customer service in main lobby.
• Sign in visitors and assist clients and complete sign-out procedures.
• Secure buildings and check doors and locks during opening and closing procedures
• Perform first aid or CPR if necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience/Skills/Abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Proven work experience as a security guard or related position preferred.
• Surveillance skills and experience required.
• Helpful and courteous behavior.
• Must be able to meet training and organization requirements for the position

• Must possess or be able to qualify for and maintain a valid Arizona department of public safety level one fingerprint clearance card
• Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license and be insurable under the organization's automobile policy
• Proficiency in communicating in Spanish preferred but not required

Work Environment:

• Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. May have to work outside in all weather conditions as needed.

Position Physical Demands:

• Occasional to moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs.).
• Occasional to moderate reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling or crouching.
• Standing and walking frequently.

Driving Requirements:

• May drive on behalf of the organization.
• 3 Year Motor Vehicle Report must be provided.
