Role Description The Multi Systemic Family Program Therapist is a full-time, on-site role located in San Marcos, CA. This position focuses on providing intensive, evidence-based family therapy and support to children, youth, and families impacted by trauma, abuse, or neglect. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, delivering individual and family therapy sessions, and coordinating services across multiple systems such as schools, child welfare, and community agencies. The therapist maintains detailed clinical documentation, monitors client progress, and participates in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure integrated, trauma-informed care. The role also involves engaging caregivers, providing psychoeducation, advocating for client needs, and collaborating with supervisors to maintain clinical quality and adherence to program models.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Psychology and Mental Health, including trauma-informed care and child/adolescent development.
• Demonstrated experience in Family Therapy within multi-systemic or community-based treatment settings.
• Proficient in Case Management, including coordination with schools, social services, and other community resources.
• Ability to work under Clinical Supervision and integrate feedback to uphold best practices and ethical standards.
• Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related behavioral health field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Current or eligible state licensure or registration as a mental health professional in California (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, ASW, AMFT, APCC) preferred.
• Experience working with families affected by abuse, neglect, or complex trauma is highly beneficial.
• Strong communication, documentation, and crisis intervention skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to culturally responsive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory practice, and the ability to engage diverse families respectfully.
