About the Role
Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented, mission-driven Grants Manager. In this pivotal role, you will be primarily responsible for the entire grant lifecycle—from prospecting and soliciting to writing and reporting.
The successful candidate will ensure that all submitted grants align with Casa Colina’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives as established by our CEO, Board of Directors, and Chief Philanthropy Development Officer (CPDO). This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned grant professional to make a tangible impact on patient care and hospital innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Grant Strategy & Execution: Lead the prospecting, soliciting, and writing of grant applications to secure funding from government, private, and corporate sectors.
- Alignment & Mission: Ensure all grant activities support the strategic objectives of the hospital and the specific needs of our patient populations.
- Financial Stewardship: Manage the disbursement of grant funds and other temporary restricted funds; prepare meticulous validating documentation and internal records.
- Relationship Management: Serve as an ambassador to the philanthropic community, maintaining strong, professional relationships with staff at various granting agencies.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with everyone from the CEO and physicians to support staff to gather data and design successful grant projects.
- Compliance & Reporting: Maintain a rigorous schedule of applications and reports to satisfy the requirements of both the Board of Directors and outside agencies.
- Foundation Support: Participate in Foundation-wide and hospital-wide efforts for fundraising, community relations, and special projects as needed.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional grant writing experience with a demonstrated track record of successful applications.
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in a major relevant to grant writing and communications.
- Technical Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and budgeting skills. You must be able to produce high-quality Letters of Interest (LOI), full applications, and budget narratives.
- Independence: Proven ability to work independently, manage complex deadlines, and exercise sound judgment.
- Communication: Strong verbal presentation skills and the ability to act as a primary liaison for the Foundation.
- Mobility: A valid California driver’s license and the ability to drive routinely on both freeways and local roads.

- Must be capable of safely performing functions indigenous to the position, including:
- Sitting and standing for extended periods.
- General mobility, lifting, squatting, and reaching overhead.
- Repetitive use of upper extremities.
