Casa Arena Healthcare is looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Assistant to join our team!
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, planning fun activities, and creating meaningful experiences for others. Our Activities Department plays an important role in helping our residents stay active, engaged, social, and connected.
Healthcare experience is a plus, but not required. We're looking for someone with a great attitude, creativity, and a genuine desire to make our residents' days better.
What You'll Do
- Assist with planning and leading recreational and social activities
- Encourage residents to participate in activities and facility events
- Lead games, crafts, music, exercise, parties, and group activities
- Provide one-on-one activities for residents who may not participate in group programs
- Help plan holiday celebrations, themed events, and special activities
- Assist with decorating the facility for holidays and events
- Help organize resident outings and community activities
- Spend time engaging and socializing with residents
- Learn residents' interests and preferences to help develop meaningful activities
- Assist with setting up and cleaning up activity areas
- Maintain activity supplies and equipment
- Document resident participation as required
- Communicate resident needs or concerns to the appropriate team member
- Work collaboratively with nursing and other departments
- Help create a positive, welcoming, and enjoyable environment throughout the facility
Qualifications
- Previous activities, recreation, customer service, hospitality, childcare, senior living, or healthcare experience preferred, but not required
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with groups
- Creative and enthusiastic with a positive attitude
- Dependable with good attendance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient and compassionate when working with older adults
- Comfortable leading games, events, and group activities
- Ability to organize and manage multiple activities and priorities
- Willingness to learn and bring new ideas to the department
