Position Overview: Teachers at CASA Academy play an integral role in ensuring that our students make significant academic growth so that they are prepared for college, life, and society. Teachers execute rigorous instruction, facilitate a positive classroom and school culture, develop strong relationships with families, analyze data, and continuously seek out opportunities for professional growth.
Responsibilities:
- Execute rigorous, standards-aligned lesson plans with an end goal of ensuring students perform at or above grade level
- Analyze data frequently and collaboratively as a means of fine-tuning instruction to meet students’ needs
- Build positive relationships with students grounded in respect, responsibility, integrity, perseverance, empowerment, and enthusiasm
- Teach and maintain school-wide procedures and systems
- Participate in on-going professional learning and development through one-on-one weekly check-ins and staff professional development
- Communicate productively with students, families, and colleagues to ensure the best possible learning environment for students
- Take ownership of academic results and work to continuously improve them
- Actively participate in three-week summer professional development in preparation for the upcoming school year
Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university
- Structured English Immersion endorsement
- IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Previous experience teaching in urban schools preferred, but not required
- Spanish proficiency preferred, but not required
