Coffee Roasting Assistant (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Coffee Roasting Assistant to join our production team. This is a vital role in our daily operations, ensuring that green coffee is roasted, packaged, and shipped to our high-quality standards. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a "hands-on" individual eager to learn the technical craft of coffee roasting from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Roasting Assistance: Support the Head Roaster in daily operations, including weighing green coffee and monitoring roast cycles.
Customer Service & Multi-tasking: Assist in managing the front-of-house by answering phones and assisting walk-in customers with a friendly, professional attitude.
Production & Packaging: Efficiently weigh, bag, seal, and label roasted coffee for wholesale and retail orders.
Order Fulfillment: Accurately prepare and box wholesale and online orders for timely shipment.
Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace; this includes sweeping, cleaning equipment, and assisting with routine roaster maintenance.
Qualifications & Skills
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift 50–70 lbs. repeatedly (green coffee bags) and stand for extended periods in a warm production environment.
Reliability: Must be 18 years old with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable working with machinery and performing basic troubleshooting (preferred but not required).
Professionalism: Strong communication skills for customer interaction and the ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
Experience: Background in warehouse, food production, or specialty coffee is a plus, but not required. Basic computer literacy is helpful.
