Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for an Employment Specialist to join their HR team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of employment management at Cary Medical Center, performing functions related to application management, and the onboarding program. This role ensures accurate employment records, facilitates onboarding and status changes, maintains compliance with employment laws, and services as a resource for employees and managers on HR policies and procedures. This individual must have the ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion regarding delegated responsibilities
Duties Include but are not limited to:
1. Coordinate and administer new hire onboarding and orientation processes after candidate selection
2. Prepare and process employment-related documentation, including wage determinations and offer letters
3. Maintain and update employee records in HRIS, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
4. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and organizational policies
5. Administer, conducts, and tract pre-employment and ongoing employment requirements through the Paylocity onboarding process (e.g., background checks, licensure, certifications, I-9 verification, CGFNS, TN visas), and includes Maine State Background checks for L’Acadie employees.
6. Ensure that all post-offer requirements are met prior to allowing employee to finish onboarding and the commencement of work
7. Administer employee onboarding logistics, including scheduling New Employee Orientation (NEO) and coordinating with departments at least six (6) times per year and as needed, along with analyses of the program evaluations
8. Maintains and assists with the coordination of orientation programs through the Relias Learning Management System
9. Serve as a point of contact for employee questions related to employment status, policies, and procedures
10. Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred
- Two - four years of experience in human resources, preferably in employee services, HR operations, or compliance
- Experience in a healthcare environment preferred
Schedule:
- M-F 7a-4p
