What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at Carver?
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the general ledger and assist with financial statements.
- Support audits by preparing and organizing documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Monitor accounts payable/receivable activities for accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2 years accounting experience (construction or industrial sector experience preferred).
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or ERP systems).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
