About the Role:
As a Packaging Plant Operator, you’ll be responsible for the efficient operation of equipment used to process, package, and prepare salt products for shipment. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and takes pride in maintaining production quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor packaging line machinery, conveyors, and weighing systems.
- Ensure products are filled, sealed, labeled, and palletized according to specifications.
- Perform routine quality checks to verify weight, packaging integrity, and labeling accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials or finished goods as needed.
- Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or production issues promptly.
- Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of equipment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment and processes.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well both independently and with a team.
- Experience with Hamer automated packaging/bagging machines is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and twist for extended periods.
- Comfortable working on ladders or elevated platforms when required.
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate machinery safely.
- Ability to work in a production environment that involves repetitive motion and consistent physical activity.
Work Environment:
- Industrial packaging facility with exposure to salt, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and ear protection required.
- Fast-paced environment with frequent interaction with production team members.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Employment in this role may be contingent upon the successful completion of certain pre-employment requirements, which could include a background check, drug screen, or driving record review, depending on the position
