Floor Technician / Custodian – Part Time – 1099 Contractor Position Only

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Floor Technician / Custodian to support cleaning and floor care operations within a professional facility environment. This is a part time 1099 independent contractor position paying $21.46 per hour. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed.

This position is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and safe conditions throughout assigned areas while also performing specialized floor care duties. The ideal candidate has prior custodial experience, understands professional cleaning standards, and is comfortable operating floor care equipment independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain designated areas including restrooms, hallways, offices, breakrooms, and common areas
• Perform routine custodial duties including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, and restroom sanitation
• Operate floor care equipment including buffers, burnishers, auto scrubbers, and vacuums
• Perform floor care tasks such as stripping, waxing, buffing, and burnishing floors
• Complete deep cleaning assignments and special projects as directed
• Restock cleaning and restroom supplies
• Perform routine inspections and report maintenance or repair concerns to management
• Follow all safety procedures and proper chemical handling guidelines
• Maintain a professional and dependable attendance record
• Work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience required
• Floor care experience strongly preferred
• Experience operating commercial cleaning equipment preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and safety procedures
• Ability to lift, push, and move equipment and supplies as needed
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and strong work ethic are required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must possess a valid Real ID compliant identification card or driver's license

Real ID Requirement

This position supports a federally regulated facility. Applicants must have a valid Real ID compliant driver's license or identification card in order to move forward in the hiring process.

A Real ID is typically marked with a star in the upper portion of the ID and is required for access to certain federal facilities. Temporary paper IDs or non-compliant IDs will not meet site requirements.

• Stripping and waxing floors
• Burnishing and buffing
• Commercial or facility cleaning
• Healthcare, school, or large facility cleaning experience is a plus
