What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wastewater Plant Operator Trainee position at Carthage/West Carthage Water Pollution Control Facilities?
The Carthage/W. Carthage Wastewater Treatment Facility is accepting applications for the position of Wastewater Plant Operator / Trainee.
The Operator / Trainee is responsible for assisting with operation and maintenance of facility and must be:
- in good physical condition;
- able to understand and follow written instructions and learn principles/procedures relating to the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant;
- have plumbing, electrical, and computer knowledge;
- be mechanically inclined.
Applicants must possess:
- a HS or equivalency diploma;
- valid NYS Driver License;
- be able to obtain a wastewater operator license.
The position is full time with rotating weekend work, on-call service, and is provisional pending Civil Service qualification.
