JOB RELATIONSHIPS
Responsible to the Director of Emergency Services. Consults with members of the Patient Care Services Leadership and Hospital Leadership staff as appropriate. Consults and works collaboratively with members of the Emergency Department team as appropriate. Consults and works collaboratively with members of the Behavioral Health Team as required.
DEFINITION OF POSITION
The Emergency Room/Behavioral Health Case Manager Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating the nursing care of assigned patients. The BHRN will also be responsible for requesting bed placement at long term facilities. The BHRN will work with Emergency Department Clinicians to facilitate appropriate IVC paperwork. The BHRN will also maintain all required Emergency Department Clinical Competencies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Professional
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina.
Current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
TNCC and ENPC recommended
Knowledge of applicable legal responsibilities/restrictions and current trends in Behavioral Health and Case Management pertinent to the hospital practice setting.
Evidence of participation in ongoing continuing education programs.
