    DEFINITION OF POSITION

    An Emergency Medical Technician – Basic who performs duties related to the daily operation of Carteret General Hospital Ambulance Service.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    A.

    Professional

    Current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician – Basic in the State of North Carolina.

    Current approval to function at the EMT-Basic level in Carteret County as approved by the Carteret County ALS Medical Director.

    Current North Carolina drivers license with a safe driving record and preferred completion of an emergency vehicle-driving course.

    Knowledge of current trends and techniques related to Emergency Medical Services and responsibilities in providing ambulance services.

    BLS Healthcare Provider Certification

    EVOC or EVD
