We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement, and storage of steel bars within our facility, as well as using a saw to cut raw material for production. Your expertise in operating heavy equipment, utilizing warehouse management systems, and adhering to safety standards will ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced environment where your skills in materials handling and equipment operation make a real impact.
Responsibilities
- Safely unload and store shipments of steel bars using forklifts.
- Operate chop saw to safely cut down raw bar stock to size for production.
- Manage steel inventory by organizing steel bars within the steel inventory department, ensuring proper storage and labeling for easy retrieval.
- Keeping inventory of raw steel and notifying purchasing when stock is low so that orders can be made
- Verify steel shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Operates various machines as directed to assist in the production operation. Removes burrs or excessive metal from machined parts.
- Run saws, bar pointer, and sander.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols related to heavy lifting and materials handling.
Skills
- Previous warehouse experience with a focus on materials handling is preferred.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts.
- Experience using handtools
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to warehouse operations and heavy equipment operation.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing basic repairs.
- Basic computer skills are a must.
- Demonstrated ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
- Be able to list 5 lbs. comfortably.

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
