Job Title: Email and Lifecycle Specialist

Location: Richmond, Virginia

Starting Compensation Range: $82,000 - $109,000 per year

What You Will Do: 

Email Channel Strategy and Execution

• Own email channel end to end: strategy, roadmap, calendar, segmentation, build, QA, deployment, and reporting
• Develop audience segmentation and targeting strategies that deliver right message to right customer across Carter’s lines of business
• Build and manage automated journeys and workflows (nurture, lifecycle, triggered, and transactional sends)
• Own email design and template standards in partnership with creative team, ensuring every send is on-brand and mobile-first
• Manage list health, deliverability, compliance (CAN-SPAM), and sender reputation
• Run a consistent testing program (subject lines, content, CTAs, send timing) and turn results into ongoing improvements
• Own the email performance reporting rhythm — opens, clicks, conversions, and revenue impact — and push insights back into future planning

SMS Channel

• Own SMS as Carter launches channel, building program from ground up — platform selection input, opt-in and compliance framework (TCPA), audience strategy, and cadence
• Integrate SMS with email into a coordinated, cross-channel lifecycle strategy as it comes online

Digital Asset Management

• Own organizational structure and taxonomy for Carter’s digital asset library, ensuring photos and videos are stored, named, tagged, and archived correctly
• Maintain a clear, consistent folder and metadata structure in Bynder so assets are easy to find, reuse, and keep on-brand
• Establish and document lightweight standards for how new photo and video content is ingested and organized over time
• Work in coordination with team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectives
• Perform other duties as assigned 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Minimum five years of email marketing experience, including hands-on ownership of strategy and execution
• Proficiency with a marketing automation / email platform (e.g., Pardot, HubSpot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or similar), including segmentation and automated workflows
• Strong grasp of email best practices: deliverability, list management, compliance, responsive design, and A/B testing
• Comfort interpreting performance data (GA4, platform analytics) and turning it into action — not just reporting it
• Excellent organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a calendar of concurrent sends and deadlines
• Confident partnering across teams and program managers, and comfortable recommending strategic changes
• Bonus: SMS / text-message marketing experience, digital asset management (Bynder or similar), UTM architecture, or B2B / dealer marketing experience

Actual base pay may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations. In addition to base pay, the compensation package may include participation in performance-based incentive programs (e.g., discretionary or non-discretionary plans), as well as overtime eligibility depending on the role.
