Early Childhood Lead Teacher- Infant, Toddler, Preschool and Pre- K)

Position Summary

The Early Childhood Teacher/Lead Teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising a safe, nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate educational program for children enrolled at Carter KidZ Learning Center, Inc.

The Lead Teacher has primary responsibility for the supervision, care, safety, education, and daily activities of the children assigned to the classroom. This position also provides direction and supervision to Teacher Assistants, substitutes, students, volunteers, and other classroom support personnel.

The person selected for this position must demonstrate professionalism, dependability, patience, sound judgment, effective classroom-management skills, and a genuine commitment to the healthy development and well-being of children. The employee must meet all applicable requirements under the Illinois Licensing Standards for Day Care Centers, including Section 407.14

The employee must provide and maintain current copies of the following, as applicable:

• High school diploma or GED;

• Official college transcripts;

• CDA, CCP, Gateways ECE, Infant Toddler, or other qualifying credential;

• Employment-verification records documenting required childcare experience;

• First Aid and CPR certification cards;

• Mandated Reporter Training certificate;

• Infant safety and safe-sleep training certificates;

• Food-handler or Certified Food Protection Manager certificate;

• Gateways Registry card and Professional Development Record;

• Medical examination and tuberculosis documentation;

• Government-issued photo identification;

• Background-check authorization and clearance documentation; and

• Any additional record required by Carter KidZ Learning Center or the applicable Illinois licensing authority.
