Responsibilities
- Under limited supervision and minimal technical guidance, positions material to be welded and applies hand-eye coordination to achieve the desired weld
- Emphasis is on ability to perform TIG welding of thin gauge stainless steel sheet and tubing
- Position, align, fit, and weld parts by following blueprints and layout specifications
- Inspects completed items for quality assurance
Skills and Specifications
- Ability to use welding techniques such as arc welding using a wire feeder
- Able to follow blueprints and other drawings
- Able to read a tape measure
- TIG welding experience with stainless steel sheet (18 -20 gauge) and tubing(.035-.062t)
- High School Diploma
- Vocational Schooling
- Must pass TIG welding practical test
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for 8-10 hours per day
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to work in an area that is not climate controlled in the summer months
- Must be able to bend, stoop and reach on occasional basis
