About the Job
This is a Tampa, FL based role! We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Accounting Intern to join our team. This internship will provide hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including financial reporting, data entry, and assisting with audits. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn and grow in the field of accounting, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
The role would require 20-40 hrs/per week, with flexibility based on class schedule.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist in preparing and reviewing journal entries for general ledger and accounts.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Help with the monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and schedules.
• Maintain and update accounting files and documentation in compliance with company policies.
• Help with internal and external audits by providing requested data and reports.
• Support the accounting team in managing intercompany, accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Perform other accounting duties and administrative tasks as assigned
Qualifications
• Must be a current student enrolled in an accredited university or college, pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in accounting or finance.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
