What are the responsibilities and job description for the Detention Officer position at Carter County Sheriff's Office?
The Carter County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for Detention Officer positions.
This is a salaried position starting at a very competitive per month pay. Benefits include: health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance from the State of Oklahoma Insurance Option Plan. The employee will also receive vacation, sick and personal leave. The employee will be enrolled in the Oklahoma Public Employees Retirement System.
Detention Officers are provided uniforms. Detention Officers are provided with a standard training program that will provide instruction and training on all shifts. Detention Officers will become certified in CPR, First Aid and the Oklahoma Jail Standards.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age;
Must possess a high school diploma or GED;
Must possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License;
Must not have any felony convictions, serious misdemeanor convictions, domestic violence convictions, or pending criminal charges from any state;
Must have the ability and willingness to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.;
Must pass a background check;
Must pass initial and continued random drug screenings.
