Job Title: Body / Paint TechnicianJob Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Body / Paint Technician to join our collision repair team. This position is responsible for repairing vehicle bodies, preparing surfaces, and applying paint finishes according to OEM standards and company quality guidelines. The ideal candidate takes pride in craftsmanship, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Body Repair Duties
- Perform structural and non-structural repairs on vehicles damaged in collisions
- Remove, repair, and replace body panels and components
- Use measuring systems to ensure proper alignment and fit
- Weld, straighten, grind, and fill metal surfaces as needed
- Follow OEM repair procedures and industry standards
Paint & Refinishing Duties
- Prepare vehicles for paint (masking, sanding, priming, and sealing)
- Mix and match paint colors accurately
- Apply basecoat, clearcoat, and specialty finishes
- Buff, polish, and detail painted surfaces
- Maintain a clean and safe paint booth environment
General Responsibilities
- Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
- Communicate with estimators and management regarding repair needs
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
- Follow all safety, environmental, and shop procedures
- Meet productivity and quality expectations
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as an Auto Body and/or Paint Technician
- Knowledge of OEM repair procedures and materials
- Must have tools
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and paint equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- I-CAR certification
- ASE certification
- Experience with waterborne paint systems
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to work in a shop environment with noise, fumes, and dust
