Business is booming at CARSTAR at Auto Beauty Center and we have an immediate opening for a a detail-oriented, organized Disassembly & Assembly (D&A) Blue Print Technician to join our collision production team. In this role, you will be the crucial first and final step in our repair process. You will take point on thorough vehicle teardowns to uncover hidden damage for accurate blueprinting, carefully store parts, and perform final reassembly, trim alignment, and quality checks before delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teardown & Disassembly: Systematically disassemble damaged vehicles, removing bumpers, lamps, door handles, interior panels, trim, and bolt-on components without causing additional damage.
  • Blueprinting Support: Work alongside estimators during the teardown process to identify hidden structural or mechanical damage and compile accurate parts lists.
  • Parts Management & Organization: Map and store removed parts, clips, and hardware systematically on parts carts; inspect incoming replacement parts for accuracy and fit.
  • Reassembly & Fitment: Reinstall all exterior and interior parts post-paint, ensuring factory-standard panel gaps, door locks, handles, moldings, and trim alignments.
  • Function Testing: Perform pre- and post-assembly checks on operational components (lights, power windows, mirrors, sensors, latches) to ensure everything functions perfectly.
  • Quality Control: Conduct final pre-delivery inspections to ensure vehicles meet CARSTAR quality standards.and are clean of shop debris.

Qualification & Skills

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in auto body disassembly/assembly, mechanic work, or automotive detailing/trim removal preferred (entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and shop experience welcomed).
  • Technical Knowledge: Comfort working with automotive hand/air tools, trim removal tools, clips, fasteners, and basic electrical connectors.
  • Tools: Must possess a reliable personal set of general automotive hand tools and basic air/electric tools.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous organizational skills to keep track of hardware and small parts for multiple vehicles simultaneously.
  • Licensing: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Work Ethic: Strong team player with a positive attitude and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
