Job Overview
Carson Land Consultants is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Surveyor to join our team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of land planning and construction projects, utilizing surveying techniques to collect precise spatial data. Duties
- Conduct land surveys using GPS, total stations, and other surveying equipment to gather accurate spatial data across diverse terrains and environments
- Perform ALTA surveys (American Land Title Association surveys) and other boundary and topographical surveys
- Assist Survey Part Chief in applying principles of trigonometry, geometry, algebra, and math to solve complex surveying problems and ensure measurement precision
- Assist Survey Party Chief in documenting survey findings meticulously through reports, field notes, and digital records while adhering to safety standards and project specifications
- Collaborate closely with Survey Party Chief and Professional Surveyor to ensure survey data aligns with project timelines and quality standards
Experience
- Firstly, experience is helpful, but not entirely necessary for this entry-level position
- A knowledge of GPS technology and total stations or a willingness to learn the equipment
- Experience conducting ALTA surveys and other boundary surveys or a willingness to learn the process
- Ability to perform complex math calculations involving trigonometry, algebra, geometry for precise measurements – an added benefit, but not a requirement
- Excellent communication skills for reporting findings clearly and collaborating effectively with project teams
