RBT Job Description

Carry On Therapy is hiring Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) across Tennessee and Mississippi. We provide ABA services that focus on real life, real families, and meaningful progress. This position is for candidates who already hold an active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification.

Applicants must have an active RBT certification at the time of application.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Pay: $24 -27 per hour starting pay, based on experience. RBTs with additional experience may discuss higher pay.
  • Hours: Full-Time (30 hours per week) or Part-Time
  • Schedule: Flexible scheduling based on availability

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one ABA therapy in home, school, or clinic settings
  • Implement treatment plans developed by a BCBA
  • Collect and record data on client progress
  • Collaborate with families and clinical team members
  • Maintain a positive, supportive, and safe session environment

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Qualifications

  • Active RBT certification (required at time of application)
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework preferred)
  • Experience working with children or in ABA is helpful
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel locally

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to promote skill acquisition and reduce challenging behaviors.
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and hygiene to enhance independence.
  • Collect accurate data on client behaviors, progress, and response to interventions to inform ongoing treatment plans.
  • Support clients in developing communication skills through teaching functional language and social interaction strategies.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop, review, and update care plans tailored to each individual's needs.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations by ensuring confidentiality of medical records and client information.
  • Document all sessions thoroughly in medical records, including progress notes, treatment updates, and behavioral data.
  • Work directly with children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disabilities in various settings, including home environments.
  • Adhere to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts to ensure high standards of ethical practice.
  • Engage in ongoing training related to behavioral health, behavior management techniques, medical terminology, and autism support strategies.

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and implement behavior management strategies effectively.
  • Strong skills in data collection, documentation, and maintaining detailed medical records.
  • Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral health practices, and autism spectrum disorder support techniques.
  • Home-based behavioral experience is a plus; flexibility to work in clients’ homes or community settings.
  • Excellent communication skills for working with children, families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to follow medical terminology accurately and adhere to strict confidentiality standards under HIPAA guidelines.
  • Commitment to professional growth through ongoing training in behavior analysis ethics, medical documentation practices, and care plan implementation.
