What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Coding Tech position at Carrus Health?
Essential Job Functions:
- Responsible for ICD-10 CM diagnosis, procedure coding, and abstracting records.
- Responsible for IC-10-PCS and CPT/HCPCS, and discharge analysis.
- Assists with compiling statistical reports, performs release of information, PI, and medical record review, and maintains surveillance of incomplete and delinquent records status.
Qualifications:
- Two years' Health Information Management coding experience in an acute care facility or completion of HIM education program is preferred.
- Coding software experience is preferred.
- Understanding of Medicare/DRG, CMG, and APC systems is preferred.
License and Certifications:
- AAPC-CPC, COC or AHIMA-CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or equivalent is preferred.
