This position is Part-Time, working 2-3 nights per week and every other weekend.
Position Description
To perform reception and screening duties in an efficient manner in accordance with established procedures and as directed by the Administrator.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent.
- Administrative experience preferred. On the job training provided.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
- Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action and to remain calm during emergency situations.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, visitors, and the public.
- Be a minimum of 18 years of age and of good moral character.
- Must be knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.
- Ability to minimize waste of supplies, misuse of equipment, etc.
- Be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Have a pleasant telephone voice.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Greets
Ensures the proper screening of all employees, contractors, and visitors upon entry to the facility, observing facility infection control and safety procedures.
Assigned Tasks
- Receive and follow reception schedule/instructions from your Administrator and as outline in our established policies and procedures.
- Operate paging/telephone system as required.
- Answer telephone, determine nature of call, and relay information within the facility as necessary.
- Receive inquiries and release information in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain a current file/list of residents by name and room number, emergency phone numbers of on-call personnel, department extensions, key personnel, etc.
- Receive requests from within the facility and locate personnel through paging system.
- Give directions/information to supervisor immediately.
- Reports suspicious persons/information to supervisor immediately.
- Assist with administrative duties as directed.
- Ensure administrative supplies have been replenished in work areas as necessary.
- Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as directed.
- Assure that work/assignment areas are neat, clean, and office equipment is covered before leaving such areas on break, end of workday, etc.
- Other related duties as may become necessary or as directed by your Administrator.

- Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines.
- Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and themselves.
- Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications.
- Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel. Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR or compliance officer.
- Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor and/or Administrator. Protects residents from abuse and cooperates with all investigations.
- Reports any occupational exposures to blood, bodily fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy.
- Participates in all life safety and emergency drills and trainings. Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility’s emergency plan.
- Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor.
- Follows established infection control policies and procedures.
- As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency.

- Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting, and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.
- May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day; encounter reactions from dust, tobacco smoke, disinfectants, and other air contaminants.
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases and/or conditions which includes AIDS, Coronavirus, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis.
- May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors, or personnel.
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
- Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
- Mainly works in the office, but may work throughout the facility.
