Join Our Team at Carroll Lutheran Village! We’re currently seeking a dedicated Full-Time Cook Supervisor to become part of our caring and mission-driven community. This position will be Monday- Friday with varying days, and follow a 10:00am-6:00pm, every other weekend schedule.
The Cook Supervisor oversees daily kitchen operations, supervises and supports hourly staff, and ensures high-quality food preparation, presentation, and service. This hands-on role also manages inventory, ordering, scheduling, and compliance with safety and sanitation standards, while fostering team development and customer satisfaction in alignment with LSMMD policies.

What You’ll Do as a CLV Cook Supervisor:
- Serves as the lead supervisor overseeing Culinary Department operations, including staff coordination, food preparation, inventory, ordering, scheduling, production logs, merchandising, and signage, as directed by the Chef Manager.
- Provides direct supervision and support to hourly kitchen staff, offering real-time coaching, correction, and progressive discipline when necessary.
- Functions as a working cook, ensuring timely preparation, presentation, and service of menu items, while maintaining cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Monitors team productivity and recommend improvements to enhance service efficiency and food quality.
- Assists in employee onboarding and ongoing staff development within the department.
- Engage with customers to ensure satisfaction, addresses concerns, and resolve concerns related to food and service.
- Maintains accurate documentation, ensures food safety standards, and rotates inventory in all storage areas.
- Supports other dining services and special functions as needed.
- Ensures a safe, sanitary, and compliant work environment, in accordance with LSMMD policies, HIPAA regulations, and resident rights.
- Participates in required training, continuing education, and serves on internal or external committees as assigned.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:What You’ll Need as a Cook Supervisor:
Education | Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary school training preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant culinary experience, with prior supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical and dietary requirements for residents across varying levels of care.
- ServSafe Certification required; must be obtained or renewed within 90 days of hire, if expired.
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and handling practices in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with individuals at all levels, including residents, staff, families, external vendors/authorities, and the public.
- Strong attention to detail in writing, proofreading, managing priorities, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating a cooperative, respectful, and compassionate approach to colleagues and resident care.
- Skilled in the use of standard office equipment and technology.
- Maintains professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude when managing challenging situations.
- Physically able to move throughout the workday and lift items up to 50 pounds using safe handling practices.
- May be necessary to assist with resident evacuation during emergency situations.
- Complies with organizational health and safety requirements, including vaccination policies or valid exemptions.
