Carroll Engineering, Inc. is a small Civil Engineering firm in San Jose, CA.
We are looking for a Land Surveyor/Office Surveyor to work under the direction of a licensed Land Surveyor on various projects located throughout the Bay Area, California. Our survey department produces topographic and boundary surveys, record of surveys, A.L.T.A. surveys, short plats, long plats, final plats, boundary line agreements and adjustments, elevation certificates, easement exhibits, and more.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing calculations for field work.
- Traveling to job sites to perform field work.
- Downloading, processing, and analyzing data.
- CAD drafting
- Research legal and survey records to obtain information about property boundaries, including: deeds, easements, vacations, dedications, right of ways, etc.
- Adjust conventional and G.P.S. control networks.
- Comprehend and create standard and complicated legal descriptions.
- Resolve boundaries using accepted boundary and legal principles and case, state and federal laws.
- The ability to work independently, multi-task and manage multiple projects.
- Assist colleagues whenever necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree in related field preferred.
- At least 1 year prior experience in Land Surveying.
- LSIT Certification preferred.
- Clean DMV record and Live Scan fingerprinting (Criminal Background Check).
- Strong communication skills.
- General knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, etc.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with survey equipment, such as GPS and Total Station.
Job Type: Full-time, In-Person/Office/Field
Salary: $35-$50/hr. depending on experience
